The latest SPAA STAR event took place in Glasgow earlier this week, with over 50 operators from tour companies, airlines, cruise companies, car rental and rail who set the scene for one of the biggest roadshows the SPAA has organised. With prizes galore given away to a large percentage of the attending agents, the evening once again, was a big success.
These Scottish Travel Agency Roadshows are vitally important for agencies around the country to meet and discuss prospective business opportunities with a large number of suppliers and associates all in the same room. There is huge value for both the agents and the suppliers from various parts of the travel industry, and those benefits are even more noticeable for the large number of individual travel sellers who attend the evening, whether homeworkers or stand alone agencies.
The DoubleTree by Hilton, as hosts for the evening, excelled themselves by delivering a tasty and plentiful selection of “street food” that both agents and suppliers consumed with huge enthusiasm.
STAR dates for 2019 will be, Edinburgh on the 14th March, Aberdeen on the 12th September and Glasgow on the 26th November, but in the meantime don’t forget to join us at the SPAA Christmas Network Lunch in Glasgow on the 6th December, and book early for the 89th SPAA Dinner at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow on Thursday the 28th February, when our main guest speaker will be Pieter Elbers, President and CEO of KLM!
